About the Schizosaccharomyces octosporus genome

Schizosaccharomyces octosporus is an ascomycetae and related to S. japonicus and S. pombe. It has a similar life cycle to S. pombe with the exception of an eight spored asci.

Assembly

The genomic assembly used comes from the Schizosaccharomyces Comparative Genome Project, Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT, described in this article, and deposited in INSDC as Genome Assembly GCA_000150505.2 (WGS project ABHY3000000).
