Trichoderma reesei Assembly and Gene Annotation
About the Trichoderma reesei genome
Trichoderma reesei is a haploid filamentous fungus from the phylum Ascomycota. It is of industrial significance due to its production of cellulytic enzymes that can be used for conversion of plant biomass into glucose.

Assembly
The current draft assembly of Trichoderma reesei was produced by JGI, and has been loaded from the 33 scaffolds (total length 33.4Mb) deposited in INSDC as GCA_000167675.
Annotation
Gene models have been created using on feature annotation from the corresponding INSDC records submitted by JGI as the WGS project AAIL2000000. Additional non-coding RNA genes have been annotated using tRNAScan-SE (Lowe, T.M. and Eddy, S.R. 1997), RFAM (Griffiths-Jones et al 2005), and RNAmmer (Lagesen K.,et al 2007); additional analysis tools have also been applied.
