Database Description

The Ensembl Compara multi-species database stores the results of genome-wide species comparisons calculated for each data release at various levels:

DNA-sequence level

• Whole genome alignments
• Synteny regions
• Conservation scores / constrained elements

Gene level

• Phylogenetic trees
• Homology predictions
